A little about me.

How did you end up in Edmonton?

On December 9th, 2002 I stepped out of a plane in Edmonton to start a new life in Canada. I left my dental practice, my family and my country because I fell in love with a Canadian “boy” going to University in Edmonton. And here I am 18 years later.

What are your credentials?

I hold a DDS (Doctor of Dental Surgery) degree from the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte. I am an oral surgeon by profession, so I am detail orientated with strong analytical skillsets. I have worked in the private sector for many years, and I am a small business owner. I understand how red tape, outdated and irrelevant bylaws can hinder businesses firsthand. I serve in the community on the front lines, and I have an excellent understanding of our community's social issues.

What made you want to run for City Council in 2021?

I am concerned for the future as are many Albertans.

I ran because I want our province to be successful and innovative. We need to position our province for the future and I am a forward-thinking individual that can help. We need an agile province that is adaptable to the new economy. Things are changing, and we saw that play out very clearly with Covid 19. Change is here to stay, and we need to adjust and learn how to operate differently. I believe I have the analytical skills, education, drive, and intuition to help us move in that direction. I bring a voice of moderation. I do not believe we need to be radical to succeed; we need to be intelligent and strategic.

What makes you think you are qualified for this role?

I operate with integrity, honesty, compassion and I have a strong work ethic.

I am a life time learner so I am open minded. I have no personal agenda besides fighting for the creation of a city where our children will be able to flourish and have no desire to leave.

I am not afraid of hard work or getting my hands “dirty”. I believe that the best way to understand is to be involved.

I believe that admitting when you are wrong and learning from your mistakes is an essential tool in life. I am not beholden to a political ideology and I make an extended effort to get it right the first time. I believe that surrounding yourself with different view points helps make an informed decision.

But above all I believe in living a life of integrity and transparency in all that I pursue.
